Perspective Strategies, a leading strategic communications and issues management consultancy, is embarking on an expansion exercise despite challenging market  conditions amidst the ongoing pandemic. The firm has appointed Melisa Yim for the senior role of  Director, Client Services. Prior to Perspective Strategies, Melisa was the Head of Group Corporate  Communications at QSR Brands in 2019.

Melisa Yim

Melisa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Canberra, Australia and  has worked with international PR agencies, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and H+K Strategies, where  she was responsible for leading both international and local client accounts across industries such as  telecommunications, oil and gas, banking and financial services, sovereign wealth, education, property,  automotive, technology and FMCG. Subsequently, Melisa joined Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad as Vice  President where she was responsible for marketing and communication initiatives across the group of  companies.

“The pandemic has accelerated the pace of change and disrupted almost all industries including the public  relations and communications industry. Despite the challenges, it is an opportunity for the firm to reinvent  our work to help our clients win in this new marketplace. In fact, 2020 ended with several new wins for  us as clients recognise the potential and critical role public relations play in their businesses moving  forward,” said Andy See, Founder and Managing Director of Perspective Strategies.

“To that end, we have kicked off 2021 with a strong start to the year. Heading into 2021, we are identifying  new opportunities where we can leverage our expertise and experience. We are also expanding our suite  of services in order to meet the new needs arising in the dynamic shifting landscape of the market,” he  added.

Melisa Yim’s hire reflects the firm’s confidence of the growth trajectory moving forward. With over a  decade of agency experience and in-house communications, which includes strategic messaging,  corporate and brand communications, issues management and crisis preparedness, Melisa is an  invaluable addition to the leadership team of the firm.

Meanwhile, Perspective Strategies is also expanding its Communication Leadership Academy (CLA) arm. CLA delivers leadership-focused communications, upskilling and coaching programmes for individuals,  brands and organisations to thrive and succeed in the future of work as well as to drive digital  communications and transformation. CLA complements Perspective Strategies’ business focus because  the firm is able to seamlessly extend its strategic communications expertise into the organisational  development space, with leadership, communication and digital skills development at the forefront.
